ELP Mo. Valley

The Middle School ELP students set 3rd quarter goals for AR.  The end of the quarter is Friday, March 14th.  Students could set goals using quiz points accumulated, number of books read or average book level.  Tomorrow, Friday, February 28th will be a "Read and Feed" day for ELP students.  Middle School students may bring a snack and their AR books.  They will be reading during our ELP time and snacking too.  No drinks please....I will give water fountain/restroom time.  As you are aware, Wednesday, March 5th will be "Rock the Test" Iowa Assessment testing day for all Middle School students.  I have spoken with the ELP students to help them set reasonable and attainable progress goals.  In addition, we have done a few activities to make sure they are better prepared for the Iowa Assessments.  The following web sites are great places for students to practice:  www.freerice.com--vocabulary and grammar/written expression www.lea...

The Giving Tree In 2013 we had another successful Giving Tree. We got a huge amount of items (410 items).  Our Giving Tree provides food to the Harrison County Food Pantry for any person or family who needs assistance with getting food. Missouri Valley Elementary’s   5 th grade ELP group held a Giving Tree from December 4 th -December 18 th .They did an awesome job advertising and collected 410 items. The Giving Tree                 Kids and parents of those who go to Missouri Valley Elementary, you may know 5 th Grade ELP did a Giving Tree for the Harrison County Food Pantry. The 5th Grade ELP (extended learning program) students are organizing The Giving Tree project for MV Elementary.  We will be collecting items for the Harrison Co. Food Pantry between December 4th and December 18th.  Last year's group collected 686 items and our goal for this year is 700!  Please help us reach our goal.  Items most needed are:  paper towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste, peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, canned veggies and fruit, spaghetti and spaghetti sauce, Jell-O and pudding cups, toilet paper and macaroni-n-cheese.  Thank you for helping us help others.  5th Grade ELP Giving Tree Project 2012---Help us make this year even better!
